What a great day we had with out family!  After some initial confusion checking in, we spent a fantastic full day enjoying the food, pool, tours, and (for the adults) the tropical drinks!  The Aerial Tram was a nice trip for me and two of the kids, while the rest of the family opted for the zip line.  Our poolside bartender was friendly and attentive, and the grounds were lovely.

Great Location

looks to be a very nice property online, when it is in fact quite dated. Very few lounge chairs (literally 8), which was very disappointing after booking the pass primarily to lay by the pool. Outdoor bar is essentially empty in terms of beverage options. Would not reccomend. Extremely poor value for the price. 

Misleading Description

Great idea but the resort didn’t seem to know what was going on and honestly didn’t treat us like hotel guests. I would not go back to Gamboa Resort or recommend it. Was very run down and service wasn’t great. I like the idea of resort pass but would be hesitant to try it again. 

Need to work out the kinks 

The lunch was, surprisingly, the highlight of the visit. But that was one DARN expensive buffet lunch. The Day Pass includes a short wildlife tour (branded "Sloth Sanctuary and Natural Exhibits.") The tour was interesting, but it was one DARN expensive tour. There was NO service at the pool. When I asked for a towel, an employee acted surprised. The one other guest at the pool had to translate towel to toalla. You'd think an employee at a poolside resort would have learned the word "towel." At the pool I chatted for two hours with one of the hotel guests. He said he's one of the only guests staying at the hotel and that it's as depressing a hotel as it looks. The facility is old, but old doesn't have to be rundown. Most spaces are clean-looking but there is disrepair. For example, around the pool is a stone façade. There are steel brackets holding up the stones. The brackets are badly rusted and jagged. This is a tetanus disaster waiting to happen. 

Mediocre at best

Gamboa Rainforest Resort is a great place to pass a day in family. My wife, daughter and I enjoy de pool, the food, the Good service and the activities that the hotel got to their visitors

Great Place

It was a really beautiful hotel, with a lot of fun stuff to do, there was the pool area and a bar at the hotel, but you could take a shuttle to other restaurants and to all sorts of activities, like a tram in the rainforest, a boat tour to watch the monkey Islands, canopy and much more, it was a rrally cool experience, even tough it rained we had a lot of fun.
