The Wayfarer San Diego

The hotel is literally steps from the beach.  The pool area overlooks the waves coming in.  The staff were the friendliest I have ever experienced from a Resort Pass hotel.  If you want to mix ocean time and pool time, this is the place to go.  

Location and Staff Are Excellent

The information provided is not accurate. There is no food & beverage at the pool. You have to walk to get it yourself. The facility only accepts cards, no cash. There are no bathrooms by the pool. You have to walk to the lobby of the hotel to use the bathroom its not fun. For the price paid I prefer to get luxury accommodations, not do it yourself. The fact that I had to walk to get everything was not relaxing, or enjoyable. You might as well bring your own food and drinks. Everyone else does. Also, 1 towel for the entire day use is ridiculous. Our towels were soaked all day. I wont return because I know theres better for cheaper.

The Blue Sea Beach Hotel was exactly what I was looking for on a Thursday in February! An out-of-town friend and I went for just a few hours in the afternoon and it was super relaxing—there weren't too many people and, because there's no bar, no one was very rowdy. Check-in was simple and the concierge helped with every question we had about wifi and beverages, etc. Plus, you can't beat the view! 

Very Laid Back

The pool area has a glass divider separating it from the beach.  They give you an access key which allows you to move freely between their pool/hot tub area and the beach directly across the walkway.  Only issue when I went was the chilly weather, but otherwise highly recommended.
