The McCormick Scottsdale

I purchased a day pool pass for this hotel this past Saturday as the pool at my home is currently undergoing renovations and I wanted to get some sun. I had a horrible experience at this hotel and will never step foot on this property ever again. The employees were extremely unprofessional, rude, lack problem solving skills,  and could care a less about your business and experience.  My mother has worked at the JW Marriot for over 40 years, and the type of treatment I received would not for a second stand a chance at their resort. The type of visitors that this property also attracts are rather classless and typically bring families with several kids, making the pool extremely unrelaxing, loud, and overcrowded.  The property is also outdated, the food is not great at all, and is not a resort like atmosphere, rather a motel vibe. This hotel  management should be embarrassed as this place is a complete joke. 

Horrible Experience 

Pool was nice/ the view was nice. Service was terrible. It said online there was pool service but rarely saw anyone. No pool service, okay no problem they said we could order at the restaurant but then there was no one there either. 

Nice view, terrible service

We decided to go here on a whim because of the close proximity and desire to have cocktails/food at a resort pool. The decision to pick the McCormick was almost immediately regretted upon arrival. Although the pool wasn't very busy, even on a Sunday (initial red flag), there were no available umbrellas - maybe around 4-5 total in the pool area. After eventually finding an employee, he explained there aren't many umbrellas and we would have to wait and hope to find one available when someone leaves. It was pretty surprising for any resort in Arizona to have such little shade available in the middle of summer. Now let's talk about the actual pool area - it's dated, literally crumbling (concrete pool deck falling apart), and probably the most bare-bones you could imagine in Scottsdale. The only thing that would warrant a one star is the fact the staff (of literally two - bartender and pool attendant guy) were friendly.

Great service and food 

This is not a swanky hotel pool by any means but it was a great place to spend the day with family. Pool was not crowded and the pool side service was very good.

Nice service

We enjoyed a daycation filled with swimming, sunbathing, and some nice cool lemonade. The service at the pool was great and the vibe overall was chill. The music at one side of the pool conflicted with the music at the bar side, that was a little bit weird. The beach access with kayaks and canoes was a cool feature. There were so many geese leaving so many droppings that we didn't use them though. Probably cant really be avoided, its a natural settings type of thing. We will definitely return, and maybe stay overnight!   

Great service, great vibe! 

McCormick ranch resort was exactly what we needed for the day. Serene, clean and nice staff. Really appreciated the bar being opened for the day. Ryann was a great bartender and host! Would definitely return!

Perfect day

So this is one of the cheaper pools on ResortPass but it was quite pleasant.  The pool while not all that big was not crowded and there were plenty of lounge chairs available.  Service at the outdoor bar was excellent and prices were quite reasonable.  They also allow you to take a kayak out on the small lake behind the hotel.  This is not a fancy hotel or pool but definitely worth the cost and a nice time indeed.

A Pleasant Surprise

We loved having a cabana! Getting to use the canoes out on the lake was a bonus! Bar tender was great! We had some chips with salsa, quac and sour cream too.  Everything was great! Would be nice to have a bathroom and shower out in the pool area though.  

Fun Girls Day

The pool is clean, clear and salt water which is great. Love the area, the bar service was slow due to only one bartender and no servers coming around to check
