Sunscape Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

We booked day passes for 5 of us while in port on a cruise. The staff were generally friendly, especially the fun crew who were tasked with entertaining guests. Unfortunately that was the extent of the good. Now the bad: My wife got food poisoning at the resort and was basically confined to our cabin the rest of the trip. Don't risk it folks, you do NOT want what she had. The resort grounds were not well maintained; missing tiles in pool, cracked plaster, worn chairs, etc. They kept running out of towels, including during a huge rainstorm, so we were left wet and had to fend for ourselves before finally heading back to ship (still wet). Cocktails all used the fake bottled syrup flavors. Beach water was warm but very murky. Water toys like kayaks and SUP only available 2 hours (11 - 1). Kids water park had green water, broken equipment, and we witnesses kids getting hurt and bleeding into the pool. Seemed like nearly all locals here. Definitely pass.

Food Poisoning and Subpar Maintenance 

My family came out to Puerto Vallerta via cruise ship and purchased a day pass at Sunscape. It was so fun! Great facilities and welcoming staff. Thanks!! 

FUN IN THE SUN

I did a mistake on my reservation. And I try to explain to the manager but nothing got solved and I never got any refund. $300 dollars wasted.

We have spent several Day Passes with Sunscape Puerto Vallarta over the past several years, but probably not again.   We have stayed at Sunscape Ixtapa and Cozumel and have loved them.  
We were SOO disappointed with this last visit, overcrowded, long lines at the barAnd the food at the buffet was definitely not the usual Sunscape buffet quality.   

Great disappointment!

Check in was an easy process. The front desk lady showed me where to go for food and drinks. The resort does not have lockers so try to get there early so you can get a chair because people tend to put towels on the chairs to reserve them and that's the only way you can get a chair if you leave your stuff on the chair nobody will take it. You'll see towels on chairs and nobody will be at them for your entire stay which is silly they shouldn't even allow that. The food was mediocre at best. Service was fantastic I did get a chair on the beach and the servers were very friendly and very attentive. Just be aware there will be a lot of people trying to sell you things of those beaches.  Even if you're in a fenced off area they will come in there anyway. Decent day trip. Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel though. 

Decent 

My husband, 12-year-old daughter, and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. The food was delicious, the service was great and the amenities were fantastic. The only negative was that the bungy thing was not opened on Tuesday when we visited. My daughter wants to return when it's open (Wednesdays and Sundays).

Fabulous service

Great location, we were on a cruise and took a quick taxi ride to resort.  Customer service was a little lackluster.  Just gave us our wristbands and pointed to pool area.  No explanation of where to change, get towels, food, etc.  I would do it again though and recommend it to others.

Beautiful Spot

It was wonderful day great food great drinks been coming down the the last 8 years have a condo in villas de country and would consider a few nights in your great hotel 

Sunscape

Not many choices for food.....smorg, food truck with 4 items available that were all inclusive (fries not included.....had to pay for them) , and a coffee shop and a couple of bars for drinks.   

The breakfast smorg was good....had an omlette  (no bacon to be found.....later was told by a guest you have to ask for it).....odd.  The lunch smorg was not as good......was mostly carbohydrates.  Drinks were very good.....tried many drinks and all were good.

Make sure you have a shirt with sleeves to wear in the restaurant if you are a man as you won't be allowed in......my husband didn't have one.  After much discussion a shirt was found for my husband to borrow for the day.   Nowhere in their info did it state this.
