Secrets Huatulco Resort - All Inclusive

Secrets was a short taxi drive from the cruise port. Check in was easy, we were able to find pool loungers with an umbrella quickly. Service was good and the food was better than expected. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the resort had run out of beach towels. Next time we'll bring our own towels!

Secrets Huatulco beautiful resort

We stayed here on a day pass while on a cruise. The staff was warm, helpful, and welcoming. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The resort is beautiful. The bay is gorgeous with golden sand and clear water.  The 3 pools were inviting and the swim-up bar was a lot of fun. There was a good variety of places to eat and the food was very good. We had a nice relaxing day under one of the palapas on the beach. I would highly recommend this day pass.

Awesome hotel with stunning views

The architecture of this resort provides you with an unforgettable breathtaking bird's eye view of a perfect crescent beach, as you slowly descend towards the patchwork of beautiful blue pools. Secrets resort is simply stunning. You're torn between spending your time poolside or on the beach. Lots of activities. Too many for a half day pass, but we did the water aerobics and archery (hey Secrets, buy new arrows please!). We had breakfast in the Tamarindo with the Katrinas to skip the long line at the Market Cafe. Breakfast was ok. Lots of choices. For lunch, the Barefoot Grill burger, and ceviches were really good. Drinks were  too sweet and inconsistent on alcohol amount, but service was great. We had a wonderful time here and it was like Cinderella leaving the ball when our day pass expired at 5:00. We didnt want to leave. One note: Secrets could improve their check-in procedure. We already had the pass but still had to line up and wait quite a while for the front desk. 

Half day pass to paradise

I was told by Secrets Resort Staff when I called the local number that paying at the desk upon arrival was not an option, so I booked the Day Pass for 2 using ResortPass booking agency.  This process was fairly smooth except we did not receive 15% as first timers. 

When we arrived at the Secrets Resort  I was told we should have paid upon arrival in pesos, and we proceeded to sit there for first 45 minutes of our day waiting for staff person to confirm that I had actually paid even though I had proof of payment with confirmation number and a receipt showing my credit card used. 

During this exchange there was not a warm welcome to the resort, not a smile or any sign of friendliness from the young woman who assisted us.  Following a mention of perhaps having a manager come out, and a short disappearance incame back to tell us all was fine and we could finally enter the premises, without an explanation as to what just had happened at her desk. She did not care and gavno apology.
