Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel

This was my second time here and although there is a person serving drinks, they are only out a few hours, tops. The last time i would expect the bartender to go inside as it was raining. This time at 6p the bartender started shutting down and directed me to order online if i wanted a drink. I think they charge extra if they bring the drink to you, so its not worth it. I say all this to say, the bar service is not what its hyped up to be.

Just ok..

This was a nice mini day away for our family of 4. The kids had a blast. Food and drinks were good too.

Great day at the pool

Staff was great and pool was nice. They definitely need more lounge chairs on weekends especially for ends. Kids splashing and running around the pool could be chaotic. Wished they had adult only day or time 

Great staff 

Great location, pool was in the sun most of the day even though there are buildings around.  The concrete block could use a power washing, a little more selection st the bar would be nice, and the biggest complaint I would have is there was not near enough chairs. There was probably 75 people there and about 30 chairs.we had to lay down on the concrete. Overall it was relaxing. Pool felt great.

Nice getaway

Enjoyed a beautiful day at the Renaissance pool on the rooftop. The pool was great as heated. Seating was fabulous and the food was outstanding a great day to spend a Thursday.

Pool time on a Thursday 

Enjoyed the pool deck room as part of a birthday celebration.  Service was excellent, as was the environment.  

Excellent Time!

I always had access to the hotel pool with no problems. I was invited by other friends who were at the pool upon arrival, once I stepped in the pool area I was constantly harassed by Bob who apparently is hotel Loss Prevention. He only asked ME specifically for credentials to be at the pool & didnt bother anybody else in the pool area even those who invited me (who was never asked for credentials.) I just happened to be the only person with a room & of color at the pool which made it more questionable. I then asked Bob if hes gonna ask a caucasian couple who walked past us as he escorted me down to the front desk if he would check their credentials as well but then replied in a hostile way This has nothing to do with them, this is a me and you issue. I then proceeded to pay for access to the pool even though I had a room in the hotel, which was very wrong and didnt occur to me until i had left the pool & went back to my room that this was not a normal occurrence. Its 2024 not 1995. 

Very abnormal encounter. Will not be returning!

So I did my part in checking the weather prior to planning my daycation and the forecast called for partly cloudy skies at the time, but no rain. On the day of, the forecast called for thunderstorms, so I called the Renaissance Hotel to see if we could rebook for another day, and was told they cannot since it was booked through a 3rd party and suggested that I call ResortPass. I am still trying to see if we can rebook since 45 minutes into our reservation (our reservation didn't start until 3p) we saw lightning and left the hotel (the rain started immediately following). Still waiting to hear back to see if we can at least get a partial credit. Oh and there is no free parking at Renaissance Columbus hotel no discount on valet (that was confirmed when I called prior to my Daycation). So plan on spending at least $8 if you park in the lot near the hotel.

Hate the cancellation policy

I was in Columbus doing some work and decided to come on my break. The pool and hotel were amazing and I definitely plan on coming back!!

Great Experience 

The warm water in the pool with the cool breeze made for a fabulous evening! The sun went down and the lights came on. It was wonderful!
