Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

We were staying 2 weeks up at Playa Mujeres and wanted to try a resort in the Hotel Zone and do something different for a day.  We were 2 adults and 2 teens.  Doing a trip to another hotel with a different beach is like a day excursion and great for the teens.  We got the full day pass so we could enjoy the evening there if we wanted.  We chose a Friday as they do a Mexican show on Fridays.
We arrived around 10am and were kindly received from the bellmen and the concierge.  The concierge spent time explaining the resort to us and was very kind.  We brought passports for each of us as we needed to show our ages.  They kept them safe all day.  We also left some bags with them and could access them during the day.
We headed to breakfast at the buffet. Service was great, food was ok.
We were worried we wouldn't find a beach chair but no problem.
No problem with lunch or dinner.  Italian rest is amazing.
Show was great!
Pools are tired and missing tiles.  Food is OK.

Amazing beach!

Everything was perfect from when we check-in to when we left the property at 10 pm (we had all day pass)  

Great location 

We arrived at the beginning of the day (9 a.m.) and the concierge was polite and checking in was quick.  We were able to get beach loungers but they were being claimed quickly so I recommend arriving at the beginning of the day if that's a priority. It was a pleasant surprise that the water activities like kayaking and catamaran sailing were included.  We did not kayak but did the catamaran and the views were beautiful.  My husband also participated in Texas Hold 'Em, Crazy Game and Water Volleyball.  The staff were enthusiastic for all of these.  They did not appear to know the basic rules of Texas Hold 'Em but he said it was still fun. We weren't impressed by the food.  As others have mentioned, portion sizes are small so you can try multiple items which was nice. One small challenge as a day pass guest was that bathrooms were a little challenging to locate inititally.  There is one near the Kids Club with outdoor shower, one inside near the timeshare zones and we saw two others. 

Beautiful location

We spent Christmas day here after an overnight flight. The process was all so easy. They stored our luggage, we had buffet breakfast, then spent the day on beach chairs ordering drinks, food and napping. We left to check in to our other accom, then came back for dinner and drinks for the evening. Loved the whole day, and the staff were excellent 

Great location, service, food and drinks!

First time using a day pass, it was a beautiful day for us! The sea and the beach is amazing and the cocktails are great and bottomless, Such as the food. there is a plethora of restaurants (not great food, thats why the four stars) but at any point you have something to eat if your get hungry! Very friendly staff (if you speak Spanish), and free water sports! I would avoid the Japanese restaurant as the sushi was the worst sushi of my life but, breakfast was amazing and the Mexican restaurant has some good options, the olio restaurant cafe was decent. Very good day! 

Stunning beach! Great amenities! 

Spent a full day here and would do it again. Buffet breakfast and lunch, plus the waterfront bistro all had hits and misses but walked away happy each time. Liquor options are fine but the non-soda mixers weren't very good. Beach is high quality. Staff is truly 10/10. Don't forget to tip!

Had a great time!

Had a 12 hour layover in Cancun and it seemed like a much better idea to enjoy the sun and sand rather than sit inside an airport all day. I picked this location based on the the previous comments and inclusions. First of all, the taxi from the airport to the resort was super expensive and there was no other option. The drivers wanted $100 American each way which was extreme granted it was a 25 minute drive. We walked outside the airport and found a taxi that would take us for $40, but this wasted hours of our time sadly. When we got to the resort we were greeted by very kind and attentive staff who took care of us and got us set up right away! They held our luggage for us, got us towels, got us set up on lounge chairs, and brought us to the breakfast buffet. Food was pretty good and so were the drinks. The beach was nice. Pools were small but worked well for us. No bells and whistles at this resort but was honestly everything we could have wanted for one day.

A pretty nice day in Cancun

The place was clean we had full access to the hotel minus the rooms of course but everyone was so nice thats asked me a lot about myself everyone was so helpful and nice I definitely recommend the food and drinks were great it was my birthday and I felt amazing everything was just good I loved it the have 3 pools a nice beach a free attraction that includes taking pictures with the cancn sign and tequila tasting overall 10/10 I Dont speak Spanish but I felt very welcomed 

Amazing stay 

The checkin and concierge was smooth. The main foyer is modernly updated. We arrived at 9:00. Heading outside to the pool area and beach area, we noticed that all seating was covered with towels and no people. We mentioned to one of the workers our concern as it was not easy finding a place to put our belongings (especially since the hotel does not supply a locker for our personal items). Any personal items which we did not need with us were left at the concierge desk. We eventually found one lounge chair and one regular chair which we took so that we could place our towels and personals so that we could swim and enjoy or time. Throughout the day, all the towelled seats had no one sitting on them. We then paid a bottle of wine to take part in a dinner on the beach with entertainment. The food was not at all up to standards. The person cooking the bbq meat was not at all experienced and was burning all the meat. I would not return.

Disappointing stay for a family of 4

Had a great time at the resort. Every one was extremely friendly. However, the food portions were terribly small
