Thompson Austin

I paid for a cabana for the day.  When we arrived, we were told to order via Toast but couldn't open a tab and had to create a new tab every time we wanted to place another order.  We couldn't hear the music, we weren't expecting a party but we weren't expecting to hear the street traffic either. 
The AM Mgr came by and introduced himself, that's when we asked to open a tab and to possibly turn up the music, which he did arrange for us.
Service in general was below average as our food was served cold, took 45m to get drinks when the place was not even busy, and the server would walk by and not even bother to check in on us or even bus the area but would check in with the cabana next to us. 
On top of that, a maintenance guy tried to fix fans that no one asked to be turned on taking over half our area for over an hour.
I asked to speak to a mgr, the PM Mgr understood the importance of customer service and did what she could to make up for the experience I had throughout the day.

Nice pool, cold food, poor service

Had a wonderful afternoon poolside. Service was great, location was prime and clean. Pool was a bit chilly but its early Spring and was a breezy day.

The pool is very nice and so are the cabanas. Great service great frozen margs! 

Great service

I waffled between 2 and 3 stars, because the pool was a nice place but everything else was ok at best.  We wanted a "cool" place to have dinner (it was  100 degrees) and drinks while our kids swam.  This place sold us tickets at $20 a piece for adults and $10 for kids.  We were ok with that to access the pool.  But, it was obvious when we got there that this was not a place for kids.  There were many couples lounging by the pool with drinks, who did not want the pool actually used.  The pool is not wide, so it was difficult to use the pool without disrupting other customers.  The staff was surly and the waiter rolled his eyes when we first asked to order.  Another staff member handed us one napkin at a time when we asked for napkins and cutlery for our food (we were a group of 9).  We had to keep asking him for more, which he very reluctantly gave.  The waiter seemed happier when he brought the bill because he realized what his 20% tip would be on the very overpriced food and drinks.  

Good pool/Surly Staff/Very Expensive Food

Me and my wife had a great time today by the pool. Quick check in, great service and drinks, big enough pool for a midweek day. Will return.

Fun day at the Thompson hotel

I had lunch and liked the pool area so much that I booked the 5pm sunset pass as I was leaving to go home, get my swimsuit, but I got rained out as there was a large storm moving through all of Austin at the time my reservation was to start.  Would like Resortpass or the hotel to allow me to rebook for another day.

Beautiful pool and atmosphere

It was Tuesday after Labor Day.  Hotel want full pool wasnt full but sufficiently staffed food drinks and service were great.  We will be back

Great mid week quiet pool

The pool is on a beautiful roof-top deck, with plenty of shade, even for those who don't get cabanas or daybeds. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the water bottles brought in an ice bucket is a great touch. The daybed was larger than expected, and super comfortable! Also pleasantly surprised to see they had a DJ for the day. Drinks and food are tasty as well.
